Video Research and NTT Data Lifescape Marketing Join Forces

Video Research Ltd. (VR) today announced an alliance with NTT Data Lifescape Marketing Corporation (LiSM) to develop new services and sales channels for the growing marketing solutions market.
Video Research is to acquire 1,367 shares in LiSM from NTT Data Corporation, LiSM's largest shareholder, in February this year. This \68.8 million investment will make VR LiSM's second largest shareholder along with Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd., with each holding a 16% stake.
The marketing solutions business, which provides marketing services combining consumer purchasing data with audience data, is growing rapidly in the Japanese marketing industry. VR plans to promote this marketing solutions business aggressively by developing new services and sales channels targeting the manufacturing and retail industries. It intends to combine its expertise in media and marketing data services with LiSM's business model of providing marketing services to the food and retail industries.
