Radio Rating Research in Tokyo Metropolis area/Osaka Metropolis area/Nagoya Metropolis area of June, 2007

Video Research Ltd. has been conducting Radio Research in 3 major areas in Japan, Tokyo Metropolis area, Osaka Metropolis area and Nagoya Metropolis area. At this time, we are delighted to announce the research result of June, 2007 in Tokyo Metropolis area, Osaka Metropolis area and Nagoya Metropolis area.
The Radio Research in Nagoya Metropolis area will be conducted 4 times a year from this April, while it has been conducted twice a year until last March. The survey period is one week respectively.

Survey area: Tokyo Metropolis area (Tokyo 35km radius)
Osaka Metropolis area (Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Total 45 cities and 5 towns)
Nagoya Metropolis area (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Total 45 cities, 28 towns and 1 village)
Respondents: M&F 12-69 yrs. old ( 3,000 samples each)

In Tokyo Metropolis area, the ratio of persons who listened to the radio in one week reaches 72.7% among Men & Women, 12-69 years old.
Also, the average listening duration (cumulated one week) is 14.8 hrs., i.e., persons listen to the radio approx. 2 hrs. a day.

Radio is a medium that is listened both inside home and out-of home.
The share of out-of-home listening is somewhat larger than inside home and is approx. 52% of the total listening.

In Osaka Metropolis area, the ratio of persons who listened to the radio in one week reaches 77.0% among Men & Women, 12 - 69 years old.
Also, the average listening duration (cumulated one week) is 15.9 hrs., i.e., persons listen to the radio approx. 2.3hrs. a day.

Radio is a medium that is listened both inside home and out-of home.
In Osaka Metropolis area, the share of listening both inside home and out-of-home is approx. 50%.

In Nagoya Metropolis area, the ratio of persons who listened to the radio in one week reaches 81.9% among Men & Women, 12 - 69 years old.
Also, the average listening duration (cumulated one week) is 14.6 hrs., i.e., persons listen to the radio approx. 2 hrs. a day.

Especially in Nagoya Metropolis area, the share of listening inside the car reaches as high as 42.2%, which is almost equivalent share as "inside home" listening.
